The Watkiss colour touch-screen interface is designed to make your life easier, and your work more productive.

It is used on DigiVAC, Vario and PowerSquare finishing systems to control the entire production line from a central point. Job settings and memories are applied across the entire system for greater ease of use and fast set-up. Productivity is enhanced by preset sizes, flexible bin linking, multi-set programming and batch insertion. Add to that the on-screen help and multiple language options, and you can see why the Watkiss interface is the envy of the industry.

  1. It’s a single control centre for your entire collating and booklet making system – so set-up is quick and easy.

  2. A pictogram shows the machine status – so you can see at a glance how the machine is set up.  For example, you can see which bins are switched on, which need loading, and which are linked.  And if the machine reports an error, its location is shown too.

  3. Help is always at hand by using the on-screen help. If you need a reminder about how to use a function, the on-screen help serves as a prompt.  It also allows for a certain amount of self training.

  4. It’s available in a multitude of different languages, including all major European languages, Polish, Russian, Chinese and Hebrew.  The latest additions are Greek and Turkish, bringing the total count to 18.

  5. Saving and recalling jobs is easy.  When you save job settings to memory, you can give them proper names using the alphanumeric keyboard on-screen.

  6. You can rely on accurate sheet detection.  Every sheet is automatically checked, but the user interface gives you extra control.  If the sheet detector is reading on the edge of a particularly dark or solid area of print you can adjust this position on-screen so that it looks at a different part of the sheet.

  7. Collate ‘half-sets’ to increases production rate.  Using the Multiset function, you can load the job 2-up or 3-up and count multiple sets per cycle.  If you want to collate in preset batches, you can even feed ‘half-sets’ to keep your set count correct.  The result is double or triple the productivity – perfect for carbonless sets or other flat sheet work.

  8. You can program special or selective feed sequences without needing an external computer. Perhaps you want to combine the output from several different printers, or you want to collate sample packs with multiple feeds from some bins – both applications are easily programmed on-screen.

  9. It provides full analysis for the service engineer, so preventative maintenance can be planned and any problems can be identified easily.

  10. Automatically separate finished books into batches using the ‘Pause’ function on the user interface.  Packing your finished books has never been easier, just programme the number of books per batch and your chosen pause time (default is 5 seconds).  Its often the minor details that make a big difference to your efficiency!

  11. Menu based interface is easy to use.  By separating different functions onto different tabs, its always easy to find the button or information that you need.

  12. Supervisor access level allows secure job settings. The user interface has different access levels, so some adjustments are only available to a supervisor.  You can also lock the job settings to prevent unintentional changes.
