Watkiss looks forward to a successful Northprint

Sandy, UK. 20th March 2009.

Watkiss Automation is exhibiting at Northprint (stand M498) next month, and will be demonstrating a range of booklet making, collating and perfect binding equipment.

Watkiss is a leading innovator in print finishing technology for offset litho and digital print applications in the graphic arts, inplant and general commercial printing marketplace. On show at Northprint will be a range of products designed to maximise quality, efficiency and flexibility in the finishing operation.

On show for the first time will be the innovative Watkiss PowerSquare™ 200 online to Océ’s new VarioPrint 4110 printer. This will be the first time that this printing and booklet making combination has been exhibited. The PowerSquare is a complete book making system that stitches, folds, forms a SquareBack spine and trims the pages to size in one pass. With a maximum book thickness of 10mm, the PowerSquare has double the capacity of alternative booklet makers. The PowerSquare will be also be demonstrated as an offline unit.

Watkiss will also be demonstrating the Document Finishing System (DFS), an online/offline booklet making system for digital print applications. It combines the functionality of a collator, a sheet feeder and a booklet maker, taking pre-collated sheets directly from the printer and automatically processing them into high quality booklets.

Other products on show include the Watkiss DigiVAC collating and finishing system, which is ideally suited to both offset litho and digital print applications - it is very gentle on delicate digitally printed stocks and is extremely simple to operate; needing no special paper-handling skills. Because it can be loaded on the run, there is no down-time; and so time critical jobs are finished faster.
