Exhibits on show at Digital Print World:

The NEW Watkiss Mini BookMaker is a low cost nearline booklet making solution. It takes the output from the digital printer(s) and gathers the printed sheets into complete sets, adding offset-litho or colour digital print covers if required. (see separate press release for further details).

Watkiss Document Finishing System

The Watkiss Document Finishing System (DFS) converts digitally print sheets into high value finished booklets. The DFS is a nearline multi-function finisher designed to operate as a finisher and booklet maker for electronically collated sets; or as a standard collator and booklet maker for batch-printed sets. The DFS features a barcode reader and variable data option. This provides multi-level security verification of every sheet, set and document. It controls the insertion of covers and multiple additional sheets for customised sets. It extends variable data beyond the printer to the finisher; with the potential for each set or document to include a different combination of additional inserted sheets.

The Watkiss DigiVAC collating and booklet making system is ideally suited to digital print applications - it is very gentle on delicate digitally printed stocks and is extremely simple to operate; needing no special paper-handling skills. The revolutionary patented suction feed system takes sheets from the underside of the paper stack so that the operator can reload the bins whilst the machine is still running. Loading on the run means there is no down-time; so time critical jobs are finished faster.

The Watkiss Automatic SpineMaster™ perfectly compliments the high quality expectations of digital print. It takes traditional stitch-fold booklets and transforms them into SquareBack™ books. This gives users the dual advantages of the security of a stitched spine combined with the superior appearance and ease of handling of a perfect bound book.

Watkiss also offer the Watkiss Vario BookMaker System, a bi-purpose online/offline finisher which fits online to a variety of high speed digital copier/ printers. Uniquely, it can be easily switched between on-line or offline operation, giving it the flexibility to finish the output from the entire print room.
