Watkiss Automation are exhibiting on Stand 138 at Digital Print World
2003, which takes place at Olympia 2, London, from November 25-27th.
Watkiss Automation designs and manufactures print finishing equipment
for all types of printing operation - digital and offset; commercial,
inplant and quickprint. For the digital print environment, special
features and applications are frequently required. The Watkiss range
includes products specifically designed for use in digital print
applications together with those that suit both digital and offset
applications.
Exhibits at the show will include:
Document Finishing
System
The Watkiss Document Finishing System which converts digitally print
sheets into high value finished booklets. A new feature, on show for the
first time at Digital Print World, is a new Barcode Reader which
provides absolute sheet verification at the sheet, set and document
level; and extends the possibilities of variable data and customised
documents from the printer to the finisher.
The Watkiss DigiVAC collating and booklet making system. This is
ideally suited to digital print applications - it is very gentle on
delicate digitally printed stocks and is extremely simple to operate;
needing no special paper-handling skills. Because it can be loaded on
the run, there is no down-time; and so time critical jobs are finished
faster.
The Watkiss Automatic SpineMaster™ booklet finisher. The SpineMaster™
perfectly compliments the high quality expectations of digital print. It
takes traditional stitch-fold booklets and transforms them into
SquareBack™ books. This gives users the dual advantages of the security
of a stitched spine combined with the superior appearance and ease of
handling of a perfect bound book.
Watkiss also supply online finishing solutions for Océ printers. The
Vario Digital BookMaker System, which features bi-purpose online/offline
finishing, is compatible with Océ 31x5; Océ 8465, Océ DPS400, Océ
VarioPrint 20x0 and Océ VarioPrint 2105 high speed copier/printers.
In the Digital Output Showcase, Director Paul Attew of Watkiss
Automation will be addressing the issues of Nearline Finishing - How to
maintain flexibility and Quality. "This should be a core consideration
of all printers - to reap the rewards of fast and flexible digital
printing you need a finishing system that can keep pace; and you need to
supply your customer with a high quality, good looking, end product."
