Watkiss PowerSquare™ draws the crowds at Digital Print World

Visitors to Digital Print World, which took place at Earls Court, Oct 17-19 2006, flocked to the Watkiss stand to see the new Watkiss PowerSquare™ in operation. It was installed inline with the new Océ VarioPrint 2110 Titanium printer.

The PowerSquare™ is a complete book making system for digital print applications, including offline and online models. It produces SquareBack books up to 10mm thick (200 pages 80gsm), which is double the capability of conventional booklet making machines. It features automatic setting for different book sizes, including variable stitch leg length for varying book thickness.

“The level of interest and the demand for the PowerSquare™ has been overwhelming. We have a number of customers who will be installing multiple units when we start shipping machines early next year.” said Jo Watkiss, Communications Manager at Watkiss Automation.

Watkiss also took orders for the Document Finishing System (DFS). This multi-function finisher operates as a sheet feeder, cover inserter and booklet maker for digital print applications. The DFS operates offline or online as a fully integrated finisher to a wide range of digital printers including Kodak NexPress and DigiMaster and virtually all Océ cut-sheet printers.

Watkiss have already booked their stand for the next Digital Print World in October 2007.
